Nadia grew up in a group home in new haven. The woman who ran the home told her that she was brought there as a toddler. Her mother had been unable to care for her daughter, and she had been removed from her mother's home by the police. Nadia can't be sure if this is true and doubts it is since her mother never once come to visit her. She moved in and out of foster homes most of her life. There was always a reason for them not to keep her. They couldn't handle another child, or they were moving or it was just too costly. She moved into a new home at least once a year, sometimes more. Nadia did stay longer than a year at one home. The home of Doctor Lowel Thompson and his wife, Kyla, when she was 10. Lowel loved Nadia and was quite fond of her. Nadia spent most of her days at the hospital with Lowel talking to the nurses and playing solitaire in her foster father's office. For once in her life Nadia felt at home. That all changed when Lowel was sued for malpractice. He lost a large amount of money, and the family eventually lost their home. Social service remove Nadia from the home at the age of 13 and placed her in another foster home. It was soon after that Nadia began to get sick. It seemed that every week she had a new illness, a new disease. When she turned 18 Nadia we released from forester care. She got a job in a video store, but was often absent due to illness, and though she had a small apartment for a while most of her time was spent in the hospital. It was there that she met Maggie, a nurse who always seemed concerned about her. When Nadia came to the hospital one day with a broken arm and a minor concussion from having fallen down the stairs Maggie couldn't help but ask her if she'd done it on purpose. Nadia confessed that the fall had been a suicide attempt and soon after checked herself into cherry hallow.
